SEC Early Entrants 2013

nfl-draft-podium-tightThe NFL early entry deadline had come and gone and SEC teams took quite a hit.  Not surprising considering the SEC leads the nation in recruiting rankings every February and in NFL draft picks every April.  With that much talent in SEC programs, there will always be a number of stars leaving prior to their senior seasons.

In all, 33 players from the league submitted their paperwork to the NFL for early entry into the draft.  More could have changed their mind at the last minute, but for now we know of 33.  That number includes former LSU star Tyrann Mathieu who did not play with the Tigers in 2012 due to a suspension.

This speaks volumes about the job James Franklin and Hugh Freeze did. They had no players projected to go high in the draft and still put together solid season.

I don't care who you are or how well you have recruited - losing all of your seniors and your eleven best juniors would just seem to be an insurmountable obstacle when looking towards next season.    A few are on the offensive side, but essentially, they lost a defensive first string just in juniors.  This is not to mention seniors, transfers, injuries...  Better be scouting the junior colleges hard and fast.

@I4Bama we'll see. thats what happens when you have such a great recruiting class.  the d will be young, but all the starters will have significant experience, and half the backups, except one DE.

Add to this the fact that your offense has been borderline inept...

Between me and my husband we have owned far more MP3 players over the years than I can count, like Sansas, iRivers, iPods (typical & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few many years I’ve settled down to one line of gamers.
